The rough, secluded wilderness of Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Africa’s most sought-after, underexplored places. Over 77 animals and approximately 475 bird species have settled in this unspoiled savannah landscape,split up by the Kidepo and Narus rivers.
An exciting game drive will provide you with amazing wildlife views. Animals include lion, leopard, elephant, and a variety of plains game, some of which are unique to Uganda (such as greater and lesser kudu, eland, and cheetah).
The Memorable Game Drive
You can expect an almost private game drive experience as you travel through broad grasslands accented by rugged outcrops and a lush valley.
Travel to Kanangorok hot springs, cross the Kidepo Sand River, and gaze at the towering mountains in the distance. Your guide will lead you through the park’s incredible flora and fauna, which includes lions, elephants, and leopards, as well as buffalo, giraffes and a variety of antelope.
The park’s enormous terrain is stunning, with spectacular views in all directions. The continual streams make River Kidepo a glittering oasis in the semi-desert. There are approximately 500 beautiful bird species, like the Egyptian vulture, pygmy falcon and verreaux’s eagle.
Meet the Karamojong People
Visiting the pastoralist Karamojong village in Kidepo will provide you with an unforgettable cultural experience. Learn about their wonderful way of life, meet the village elders, and participate in a fun activity with the local children.
Engage in the frenetic jump dance, participate in specialised hut building, and don the distinctive clothing. The Karamojong are a Nilotic people for whom cattle are an important component of their culture. The animals are gathered and offer the principal food, cow blood and cattle blood.

You will depart for Kidepo Valley National Park from Kampala and have lunch enroute. The long drive up to Kitigum offers numerous natural beauties, making the journey very rewarding.
You will have supper and overnight stay at your hotel.
Today, you go an early morning game drive. There are chances of observing a variety of species and flowers.
Kidepo Valley National Park has a high biodiversity of fauna, with at least 86 mammal species, ranking third after Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison Falls National Park in terms of mammal diversity. Kidepo Valley National area is home to 28 of Uganda’s 86 mammal species that are unique to the area.
Striped hyenas, cheetahs, Ardwolves, greater and lesser Kudu, Klipspringer, Dik-dik, Bright’s Gazelle, and Chandler’s mountain reed buck are among the creatures found alone in this park. Other large mammals found here include the African elephant, zebra, buffaloes, waterbuck, Jackson’s hartebeest, lions, leopards, and black-backed and side-striped jackals.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go on a cultural walk and meet the native Karamajong people at Kapedo and Karema. Some of the cultural objects to view include the Manyattas, ‘Kraals’–the grinding stones, and many more magnificent African crafts. Return to the lodge to relax.
Dinner and stay at the lodge.
Following breakfast, we will depart from the hotel, enjoying the picturesque scenery as we journey back to Kampala.
