Day 1ARRIVAL AT KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Upon arrival, our professional driver guide will welcome you with a short briefing about Rwanda later you’ll procced at Hotel des Mille Collines which is only 25 minutes from the airport.

Overnight and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2KIGALI CITY TOUR AND TRANSFER TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Volcanoes National Park lies in northwestern Rwanda and borders Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The national park is known as a haven for the rare and endangered mountain gorilla and golden monkeys. It is home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), and spans 160 km2 covered in rainforest and bamboo. The park was the base for the zoologist Dian Fossey.
Today after having your morning breakfast at 8 am, you’ll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, to pay homage to the victims of genocide against Tutsi. Rwanda’s painful past has haunted the country for years; however, their impressive recovery story has turned them into an inspiration. The Kigali Genocide Memorial is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of the more than one million Rwandans killed in 1994. After the visit you will bid a farewell and proceed to the Northern side of Rwanda on a road trip of 2-3 hours towards the northern part where the home of volcanoes lies. You will check in have lunch and spend
the rest of the evening embracing the nature at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3MOUNTAION GORILLA TREKKING – IBY’IWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE

After an early breakfast, accompanied by the guide you will head to the park headquarters in Kinigi village. You’ll be divided into groups of 8, and after a briefing on safety and gorilla trekking etiquette; then you’ll be driven to the start of the trail to reach your mountain gorilla group. Your experienced trackers use their knowledge of the gorillas’ habits to locate their whereabouts. Upon sighting the gorillas, you stay with them for a magical hour, admire their behavior of as they go about their daily lives feeding, youngster playing and picking open fruit and throwing it through the air, resting and raising their young. Occasionally one, often a playful youngster, will approach you with curiosity, sometimes coming so close that you’ll have to move away. At that moment, the world seems to come
alive, and your view of the natural world is changed to include creatures that humans have so feared for thousands of years. Afterward, go for lunch and relaxation. Later In the evening you’ll visit the Gorilla Guardians. A fascinating village with a variety of cultural experiences; it offers the best way to get to know the local people, their culture, and their ways of living.

Overnight at the lodge.

What to wear and carry: -Wear long trousers, long sleeve and hiking waterproof boats (to minimize the impact on wildlife, it is recommended to wear shades of green or brown). Carry gloves, a rain jacket, and a camera.

Day 4TRANSFER TO AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK- SUNSET BOAT CRUISE

Wake up in morning have your breakfast at 8am after checking out from your lodge you’ll be driven to Akagera nation park located in the eastern park of Rwanda. the journey will take 4-6hours includes one-hour lunch break at a picnic spot. Once you arrive in the park, a guide will help you in filling park’s registration forms and after you’ll proceed with the check-in procedures at Akagera Game lodge within the park. You’ll relax at the lodge and in the evening, you’ll embark on a sunset boat cruise at Lake Ihema in search for water lovers like Nile crocodiles and Hippos, you will sail along the water edge which is covered with several trees, drift past numerous giant hippos on the shore.

Dinner and overnight the Lodge.

Day 5FULL DAY GAME DRIVE

After a finest heavy breakfast at 8am, you will embark on a full game drive from the southern part of the park to the Northern part which takes about 6 hours to 7 to drive with in the park. The full day game drive offers you more opportunities to spot a variety of wild animals. You’ll have lunch at any nearest picnic spot within the park and later procced with your safari drive spotting other wild animals’ species that you might have missed during morning hours. Elephants, buffalos, lions, Masai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bushbuck coupled with large concentration of bird life; over 525 species identified which different species you get an opportunity to see today. Later you’ll drive back to the lodge for an overnight stay and diner as well.

Day 6DEPARTURE

On this day, after having your breakfast, depending on your flight schedule you will drive back to Kigali and be dropped off at Kigali international airport for your international flight back home.
